Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas - The Musical Chicago Theatre reviews
STEVE WINWOOD / SANTANA
1. Luckily, I was in my seat a minute before showtime without any announcement from Steve Winwood, as stated on tickets. So, no one really in their seats yet.
2. I guess I didn't push "1" for English, as Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas - The Musical had too many songs in Spanish.
3. One song only and I never heard it before. Should have had more with Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas - The Musical and Winwood performing together.
4. Some missed the boat on this one. Also, it was a perfect opportunity for Winwood to come out and have them play "Why Can't We Live Together" together, as Carlos Santana spoke of peace, living together in peace, etc. It would have been awesome as that is the message C. Santana was talking about.
5. It could have been such a memorable show to have 2 legends on the same stage and not take advantage of it was disappointing.
6. It was not as powerful as it could have been when Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas - The Musical did the Woodstock music with the Woodstock movie background. It would have been great if it was a "Woodstock moment." I think some people probably didn't even realize that it was Woodstock footage included in there. The moment should have shined on its own, and he should have gotten recognition for it, but sadly, it was not highlighted like that.
7. But, he sure can play!
